My Biggest Projects from 2019!

2019 was a big year for my house! I did so much! I wanted to take the time to show you all of the projects that got completed in 2019! From the shutters to the finished stairwell, I was definitely busy. A separate post will be coming about what I want to do for 2020 and that will be fun to help keep me accountable for next year and completing even more projects!

  1. New Shutters

At the beginning of the year we made brand new shutters to replace the rotting ones. The old shutters were not treated properly and were decaying by the day. I have to say I still love these shutters!!

2. The Patio Makeover

This one was exciting. Getting the patio to look presentable and make it usable was so fun! While some of my plants haven’t survived despite my best efforts (ugh can’t I just keep a plant alive!?) I have added even more furniture since the original reveal!

3. Installing the Vinyl Floors

Honestly I think this was my favorite. Knowing that I even did it myself makes me proud. And the room completely transformed to a warm and cozy space.

4. DIY Wood Mantel

I would say this was the easiest project of all! Just took a couple hours and completely changed my fireplace!

5. Guestroom Reveal

Now I love this room more than my room! I absolutely so happy I finally got the guest room together. It was honestly depressing how jumbled this room was, and with such a small house, I need all the happy rooms!

6. Finishing the Stairwell

This is the only project I called in big help for. I didn’t trust myself to be on a ladder in a tall narrow stairwell! We installed a light fixture and finished out the walls to make going downstairs much more inviting!

Check in from the Fall To-Dos

I made a list earlier this fall of things I wanted to get done. Let’s see how I did!

  • Finish the laundry room - NOPE! - I did add some shelves, but still not done with this one

  • Finish the closet in the craft room - NOPE! - This will be on the list for next year!

  • Landscaping - NOPE! - I did clear out some brush, but all the landscaping still needs a lot of help! Maybe in the Spring?

  • Guestroom - YES! - This may be the only project I checked off on my fall list haha!
